The office was large and bold just like the man who owned it. I couldn’t believe I was actually there, couldn’t believe I was going to the one man me and my brothers had sworn a long time ago we would never go to for help. We had promised that his hold on us was over, swore up and down that hell would freeze over before we ever told him too much.

And yet…

I was backed into a corner.

The truth wasn’t as black and white, it wasn’t that cut and dry. As evil as some people were, they could still be right for certain situations. The people who were the darkest were usually the only ones who could do the evil things it took to get the job done.

Hence why people in power were usually rich and horrible.

Still, Liam and Pierce were going to lose their minds.

I pushed my brothers out of my mind and took a deep breath, opening the door to the large space and forcing my way inside. Seeing him after so many months was startling, he looked the same as always; as if he was incapable of aging.

His dark eyes looked me up and down slowly, his perfectly tailored suit looking even crisper in the bright lights of his office. He smirked, revealing a sharp set of white teeth. “Well, well, what do we have here?” he asked, leaning back in his seat and crossing his arms over his chest. “Could it be? My missing son has finally returned?”

I closed my eyes and tried not to lose control. “Hello, father.”

I was about to make a deal with the devil.
